“ Had a meal with friends on Saturday night... managed to get the top corner table which had beautiful view of the river, sage and bridges. Firstly, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and created such a great ambience... set across 3 floors with the seating arranged in a very balanced manner to give you space but also keeps it lively... on the face of it.. the menu looked little light compared to other Persian restaurants.. but as we couldn’t decide what to eat.. we ordered 5 x Bedouins Feast... we ate every item of every course... the whole experience was banging.. ”
“ I had a very good and tasty meal with excellent service; the waiters were attentive and accommodating throughout. The decor was warm and inviting, perfectly complementing the quayside location and creating a relaxing atmosphere. We opted for the set lunch menu, which at 20 was excellent value for money. Although the portions were slightly on the small side for some of our group, the ingredients were fresh, well-cooked, and flavorful. Overall, I found it to be a great dining experience, and I would definitely recommend it and return. ”
“ Atmosphere and restaurant fittings were really high standard. Service was very friendly and exceptional throughout. We really enjoyed the Persian flavours and also the quality of the meat and ingredients. Our favourite dish was the chicken kebab which was succulent and tasty. We visited during the pre-theatre menu before 6.15 pm so we managed to get quite a large portion of food for 25 per person which seemed fair value. Will definitely be returning soon. ”
“ I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Dood. I flew in to Newcastle on business and was looking for a an interesting place Quayside and found Dood as I was exploring. The menu is very interesting and I have a difficult time choosing what to order. I decided to get the Bedouin dinner which had a little bit of a variety of items. It included lamb kebab, grilled lamb chops, rice with lamb and pomegranate seeds, and a goat stew with parsley and cilantro. There was hummus and flatbread, olives, and Nuts to start. The cocktail was also very creative and delicious. I highly recommend! ”
“ A flight of fantasy into ancient Persia at Dood. I was welcomed so dearly and led through the spectacular restaurant setting, almost a Bedouin village atmosphere and the multitude of very friendly, helpful waitrons, to assist me. A great variety of Middle Eastern cuisine and I selected the set menu special, a variety of of choice with each course. I started with the salted, spicy grilled calamari, absolutely delicious. Chicken breast kebab with Aleppo chips was a brilliant choice. Incredible value for money and I was happy I arrived early as the venue filled up, understandably so! ”
“ Fabulous Persian experience. I’m based in the Middle East and can say the food here was wonderful. SO tasty which I was pleasantly surprised at. The restaurant is nicely designed and the menu is vast. Staff are friendly and service was relatively good. We ordered a mixture of bits to start and share and then all got kebabs for mains. Really was surprised at how tasty the food was. The rose rice pudding was also our favourite! ”
“ I have been here twice in less than four weeks and it was incredible on both occasions. The aubergine and houmous dishes were spectacular small plates to start. A particular highlight for a main though has to be the monkfish although nothing so far has been a miss; the tiger prawns were huge and delicious, the two lamb dishes particularly flavourful. I literally cannot fault a single thing. The service was also incredible, something you don't find often. They were happy to recommend dishes and drinks and it added to the overall experience. Thank you very much! ”
